Baloch Society of North America (formally BSO-NA) Shuns War of Independence of Balochistan - decides to work within Pakistani federation In a surprising twist, Dr. Wahid Baloch, President of the Baloch Council of North America (now called BCNA) has appealed to all Baloch youth to shun any idea of a War of Independence which he now terms as a War of Independence of Khans, Nawabs and Sardars. The BSO-NA was formally a lobby group in Washington DC to US Congress support for an independent Balochistan. However in a surprising twist, the BSO-NA has decided to call it quits. We ask all the middle class ordinary Baloch to not be misguided and brainwashed by fancy slogans of these Khans, Nawabs and Sardars said Dr. Wahid Baloch. He claimed that the Khans, Nawabs and Sardars were using this war for there own evil purposes and that ordinary Baloch people are suffering at the hands of them. Dr. Wahid Baloch also went on to say that Baloch youth should Instead use all the non-violent, democratic and peaceful means of struggle and to help the democratically elected Balochistan provincial government of Dr. Malik secure Baloch rights within the Pakistani Federation. He also added ...all the Baloch militant groups and death squads are either working for these Khans, Nawabs and Sardars and/or are backed by foreign countries for their interests. The ordinary Baloch people are being made a scapegoat to destabilise Balochistan and sabotage the reconciliation and peace process in Balochistan that Dr. Malik Baloch and his government are trying desperately to put in place. Those who are inciting and pushing the ordinary Baloch people into this so called war of independence (war of business), are enemies of Baloch people and they are equally responsible for their killings and sufferings. He asked all the Baloch youth to shun the path of violence and militancy and join hands with Balochistans elected government to bring peace and stability in Balochistan. He also asked Balochistans Chief Minister Dr. Malik Baloch to immediately convene the long waited proposed All Pakistan Conference (APC) on Balochistan to collect recommendations and suggestions on how to address and resolve Balochistans issues and pave the way for a dialogue and negotiations to find an everlasting solution of the conflict within the federation amicably. He said violence breeds violence and dialogue is the only way forward to solve the problems that the people of Balochistan are facing. Dr. Baloch applauded the Balochistan governments budget to boost spending on job creation and security. He said, jobless frustrated Baloch youth are an easy prey to Baloch militants and extremists groups and organisations and providing them jobs to put food on their table will greatly help to remove their frustration, sense of alienation and marginalisation and prevent them from being recruited by the terrorists and militant outfits. Dr. Baloch reiterated that the BCNA will continue to work with all democratic and nationalist forces in Pakistan to secure Baloch rights through democratic, nonviolent and peaceful means within the federation of Pakistan. He said, BCNA believes in peaceful non-violent means of struggle and is against terrorism, violence and extremism in all of its forms and shapes.
