Bolivia Amendments as regards radiation sources, ozone-depleting substances and import prohibitions for certain vehicles have been brought to the import documentation for Bolivia. The following changes have been made: Radiation sources The Bolivian Nuclear Science and Technology Institute (IBTEN) is the responsible authority for the control of radiation sources such as X-ray equipment or radioactive material for medicinal use. The section on Radiation Sources, describing the requirements and permissive documents to be obtained from the IBTEN in order to carry out importations of such products, has been newly included into this overview. Ozone-depleting substances (ODS) Bolivia applies the phase-out schemes for ODS in accordance with the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. In this context, on 1 January 2013, Bolivia initiated the phase-out scheme for hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). The section on the restrictions of and requirements for the importation of ODS and products containing them has been revised in this regard. For further information, please refer to the corresponding section below. Motor vehicles New age restriction for imported mobile drilling rigs, fire-fighting vehicles and concrete-mixer lorries have been introduced by Supreme Decree No. 1606 from 12 June 2013. The sections on Import Prohibitions and Motor Vehicles and Hydrocarbon Products as well as the document entitled Prohibited Imports have been amended accordingly.
