CHARLIE HEBDO PROTESTS: Protests against the publishing of Islamic caricatures by French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo outside the French consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, turned violent on Friday, as police clashed with members of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT). According to reports, water cannon were used to disperse protesters who had earlier thrown projectiles at police. Three people were reported to have been injured and several were detained.
