Cardinal Fans are enjoying not just a good season to this point but a Great season for the boys who wear the birds on the bat. The Cardinals have played 70 games so far this season and have 45 wins-more than any other team in the MLB. At their current pace- the Cards would win 104 games out of 162. As Adam Wainwright goes for his 11th win of the season tonight against the Cubs-he is striking out nearly 11 batters for every one that he walks. Yadier Molina is leading the national league in hitting with a .355 average. Carlos Beltan is 3rd in homeruns and Allen Craig is 4th in RBI’s in the National League. St. Louis has scored 353 runs, 2nd highest in the majors behind only the Red sox. The Cards have allowed 248 runs-again that’s good enough for 2nd in MLB trailing only the Braves. ESPN has had the Cards ranked number one for three weeks in a row in the power rankings list of all MLB teams. 18 players in the national league are hitting over .300 and the Cardinals have four of them. Molina, Carpenter, Craig and Beltran all top the 300 mark. So far-so great for STL fans in 2013.
