Carmelized onions done! These make a great addition to whatever youre having for dinner, like cashew cheesy grits tonight! You can mix some with balsamic vinegar for a tasty spread on crusty whole grain bread or blend some with more vinegar and a little Dijon mustard for a great oil-free dressing. I try to keep these on hand at all times! To make: thinly slice 4 onions and place in heavy pan. Add 1-2 whole bulbs of garlic that have been separated and peeled. Cook at 300 degrees for an hour with the lid on. Remove lid, stir and continue to cook for 2 hours. Stir on a regular basis. No oil or water or other seasoning needed. Enjoy!
