Chelsea to rival Atletico Madrid for new Mesut Ozil CHELSEA are to join the chase for Hamburg star Hakan Calhanoglu, who has been dubbed the new Mesut Ozil. The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, but Arsenals interest amounted to nothing. And according to reports in Spain, the Blues have turned their attentions to Calhanoglu. A report in Spanish paper AS claims Chelsea are willing to stump up £13million to sign the Turkey international. Chelsea are set to meet with the German club to explore the possibility of signing him. It is thought however that the youngster is a big fan of Atletico star Arda Turan which could sway his decision. Calhanoglu has scored 10 goals in 32 Bundesliga appearances this term.
