"Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important." - C. S. Lewis Of course, the same may be said of many religions and spiritual paths, the challenge, of course, being "How would we know if it is true?" And, if true, what other implications are there? And so on, and so on, and so on. Because if Christianity is true, then we have a mosaic of churches, and many of them directly contradict one another on a great many points, even "calling out" one another on some points, and so even if someone concluded Christianity as a whole is correct, which church, which tradition, which theology, which translation, which "flavor" of Christianity is the right one from among the "truth of Christianity." A friend of mine that does a lot of counseling and coaching, including helping people who are reeling from side effects of strict religious upbringing colliding with a very different sort of home life, helps them leave behind the trauma of the conflict between church and family and focus on what Jesus Himself said and taught - focusing on Love. Then they can rebuild the rest of their faith from there.
