Coming from primarily a hospitality background with a little experience in tourism, my vision of a thriving downtown area is more like what they have built in Granbury Texas. Although they have seen some huge setbacks with a tornado that ripped thru the town and the lake so dry it has lowered property values to an all time low, they still trive with an updated downtown area full of fun shops and restaurants and cafes that are busy 7 days a week. That is because they planned for the future and upgraded their infrastructure to accommodate those types of things. With Terrells amazing history, there should be plenty of reasons to come visit BUT while youre visiting, you might want to take a walk at a nice park or sit outside and have a cold beer. Update and maintain the park, upgrade sewer and water lines, create more defined parking spaces and recruit professionals like chefs and hotel manages to open some bed and breakfast locations. Also retail shops. This would make this very fun place to visit
