Complete remodel. Although this large opal had great sentimental value the basket style ornate setting was not to the ladies taste. We were asked to design a simple style that complimented the opal yet was functional and secure. We chose the rub over style setting as it holds the opal closely and covers the delicate stone perfectly. The white gold compliments the tones of the opal, and the flashes that are omitted really come to life against the pale back ground. The customer was delighted with the finished product, and this beautiful piece has been given a new lease of life is wearable once again.
