Page 13 Polling station executives of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savelugu Constituency of the Northern Region have accused the regional chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu of creating division among the party’s members in the area. The aggrieved executives disclosed this at press conference following the unilateral decision by the Savelugu Constituency Chairman of the party to suspend two executives of the party and dismiss another. The Constituency Youth Organizer and the Communication Officer in Savelugu Constituency, who were dismissed by the constituency chairman, were accused of championing the cause of an aspiring parliamentary candidate. “They alleged that Mr. Naabu was using the Constituency Chairman to witch-hunt persons who did not vote for him during the regional congress”. Sualisu Ibrahim Basha, Spokesperson of the aggrieved polling station executives, said the affected officers were not given fair hearing in accordance with natural justice and gave a week’s ultimatum for the reinstatement of the said officers. “Mr. Basha indicated that if the party’s leadership in the region fails to adhere to their demands after the deadline, they would initiate an impeachment process to compel the Constituency Chairman to do so”.
