Considering the amount of time I have spent contemplating George Orwells 1984 lately, this struck me as eerily true. Also, reading through the comments on this post, its not being taken literally but that is how I see it. Think about the devices we willingly bring into our homes that could be turned against us. Add that to the fact that each generation is putting more and more of their attention on social media as a way to spy on people ourselves and as a way to spend life with our thoughts on ignorance rather than learning. When I can barely understand 40% of status updates because individuals are refusing to use correct grammar, I cringe inside. Already cursive has been taken out of schools. When they start subtracting our vocabulary even further, is anyone going to notice? Our laziness and apathy will be our downfall. I apologize for this exceptionally long post. Apparently I woke up on a soapbox today. Now please excuse me while I continue to contemplate these facts and have a panic attack.
