Crime Prevention Tip: If you returned home today and found someone had broken into your home, removed several valuable items such as a television, computer, jewelry and other items could you provide the responding officers with the make, model, serial number and/or photos of the stolen items? In most cases the homeowner is unable to provide this information at the time of the crime or afterwards. Having a make, model and serial number of an item that has this information increases the odds of having the items returned and making an arrest. This weekend please take a few minutes to record this important information. You could use your mobile phone to take photos of the items and their make/model/serial numbers. Send the photos to your email account and in the event you need the information for the police or insurance company you could quickly access and provide the information. Have a safe day.
