Curious what my educator friends feel about this take. Ive been conditioned to believe all common core is pointless and horrific, but there must be SOME valid reason for a change? I am a a physician, with years of higher level statistics, science (and college calculus) who now finds even my 4th graders math homework challenging. I feel like one of the students he refers to here, that never got math. Im not interested in political diatribes, Im actually interested in what the RESEARCH says about effectively teaching kids math. Thoughts?
