Day 39 - Flatbread Perry, FL to Gainesville, FL...93 The Palm 2 Palm crew coasted across the country, only to face their greatest foe - Florida. Despite the abundance of Vitamin C in this state, Brent woke up with that feeling...the one where you know you are on the verge of a nasty cold, and things could go either way. To make matters worse, its raining for the third straight day and the rain is harder than ever. To add insult to cold and rain, Brent got six flats today. Not that Ed was immune. ..he hit a nice curb and blew a tire as well, hence todays post title, Flatbread! With all that being said, the guys continued to smile through it all. ..at least most of it. Check out the raindrops running down to the tip of Eds nose. ...but hes smiling. One ray of sunshine today? Theres a new sheriff in town ...actually a retired State Highway Patrol Police officer from Ohio. Mike Hunter, a fellow bicyclist from Athens, is the newest Palm 2 Palm crew member. With his sunny yellow bike jersey, and gentle smile, he was exactly what the doctor ...and the meteorologist ordered. Five days to landing!
