Day 6 of the 7-day post positive what you are thankful for challenge: I am thankful for luck and such a rewarding career in public service: 1) In-house counsel for a constitutionally elected law enforcement agency. Thankful for Sheriff Clarence T Woody Jr., for having confidence and faith in my abilities to create a position which never existed before and for giving me a shot. 2) Assistant Commonwealths Attorney on the front lines defending the Constitution and fighting for the voiceless. I have met so many GREAT folks in the community Kathy Northrop Parker, Bill Thomas, Nappa Robinson, Renee Alvarez McCloud who put their faith in my ability to get the job done. 3) My colleagues in public safety. Those who run towards the danger when the S!$t hits the fan. They made my job as a prosecutor easy at times, challenging at times, but always rewarding. Im not name checking because theres too many of yall. I never understood what they go through on a daily basis until working in house (see #1). So lets recap. I am thankful for Hope, Phamily, Friendship, Courage, my Father and now Perspective. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. You asked Neat LaVette, so I gave. LOL.
