Dear Friends, It is Christmas eve! Christians mostly would be celebrating it this night in tune with the Silent night... Holy night... Thus one more Christmas to pass through without ever realizing His good news of the Kingdom! The Kingdom to dawn, its precursor should give way, i must decrease and he must increase... The grain of wheat should die out to yield manifold... We believe that Jesus is God incarnate. And we know that God is love... This love has to be lived in service as in feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, visiting the stranger, imprisoned and the sick and so on and so forth... To my knowledge hunger remains the No. 1 cause of death in the world... There are 820 million chronically hungry people in the world and 1/3 of worlds hungry live in India with over 20 crore Indians will sleep hungry on this Christmas night even! Over 7000 Indians die of hunger every day and over 25 lakh Indians every year... The data is still frightening: the bottom 10% of India held just 0.2% of the countrys total wealth this year while the top 10% held 71%! Worse still, the top 1% alone held half of Indias total wealth! [The Hindu, Monday December 8, 2014 of Thiruvananthapuram edition, p.11] Jesus identified himself with the least of his brethren... whoever has done this to the least of his brethren has done to me.. How are we going to celebrate Christmas this year without Jesus ever being born in and through us feeding the hungry etc.? Let us stop grabbing wealth and then do little charity... labour for whatever we need... for tomorrow is not in our hands... let us live like the birds of the air and lilies of the field... seek the Kingdom and its righteousness first and other things will be given to us... Happy Christmas and New Year for a new order of the world which Jesus called the Kingdom of God. Thy Kingdom come...
