Dear Marco Griffin, You are cordially invited to be inducted online as a member of Ashford University’s chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society. This invitation to join Golden Key comes in recognition of your excellent academic record at Ashford University. The Golden Key International Honour Society recognizes “outstanding academic achievement and connect high-achieving individuals locally, regionally, and globally with lifetime opportunity, reward, and success.” As a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, you will be part of an elite affiliate of an internationally recognized honor society. To be eligible for membership as a Bachelor’s degree-seeking student at Ashford University, you must be in a sophomore, junior, or senior status, and, as of January 1 or July 1, you must be recognized among the top 15% of your class based on cumulative grade point average (GPA). You may belong to any academic discipline. To be eligible for membership as a Master’s degree-seeking student at Ashford University, you must be recognized by the university as a top-performing graduate student based on GPA, and having completed at least 12 credits of graduate coursework, by January 1 or July 1. You may be in any academic discipline. Please be on the lookout for formal induction material, which will be emailed, to this email address, directly from The Golden Key International Honour Society and should arrive on or after August 25, 2014. The Golden Key Membership Drive will take place following the distribution of formal induction material. Next Year, a New Member Recognition Event will be hosted in the Mullany Theater on Ashford University’s campus on Monday April 13, 2015 at 6:00pm, local time, and will be streamed live on our webpage (ashford.edu/student_services/goldenkey.htm). Please note there is a one-time $80 lifetime membership fee. Members who RSVP to the New Member Recognition Event (NMRE) will have a certificate suitable for framing presented to them at the event. Students not attending the NMRE can request that a certificate be mailed to them by contacting member services through Golden Key. Delivery of the certificate may take up to 8 weeks. Golden Key members who participate in the Ashford commencement ceremony will be distinguished with a Golden Key cord. Induction must be completed during the Membership Drive if you plan to participate in the upcoming commencement. Names of all new members will be published on the Golden Key webpage on Ashford University’s website. (Note: If you previously submitted a request not to release or publish information about you, your name will not be included.) The Ashford University Golden Key International Honour Society was established on May 19, 2010. Charter members include Ashford University Online Student Development & Engagement Specialist II (former) Vanessa Schoenherr, Ashford University Assistant Professor Dr. William Woods, Ashford University President (former) Dr. Elizabeth Tice, Ashford University Associate Director of Student Affairs Waunita Sullivan, and Ashford University Online Student Affairs Manager (former) Kimberly Jones.
