Dear Members, I am writing this post as a resident of Gulf View - TopicsExpress

Dear Members, I am writing this post as a resident of Gulf View not in my capacity as Chairman of the GVCC. Nor do my views reflect the views of other board members. Over the past years nearing to the Carnival season and just after I have been flooded with complaints from fellow residents regarding the Gulf View Fete. From the onset the GVCC board adopted a no fete in excess of 1000 persons policy. One year I had to issue a disclaimer since patrons assumed I was affiliated and were seeking refunds because they got not food and drink. homes and cars have been broken into and vandalized. One resident complained that hand bags and wallets of patrons that were seemingly robbed were thrown into her yard. Obscene language and urinating on walls is a norm. This year, the anticipated level of disturbance a to residents by The hosting of this event has reached new heights. Promoters are advertising busses from East West and North promising patrons a Gulf View experience on board. Clearly this Event is not intended for the enjoyment of Southerners and does not belong in a Residential area. Today, with other residents of Gulf View I accompanied an 88 year old grandmother who lives next door and is so traumatized by having noise, dust and her gate blocked, filed a petition to have the event stopped. 70 persons representing different house holds in close proximity also signed to ask that the event is stopped. I went to court today in solidarity for a neighbour and a Mother, against the wishes of those close to me - only because they were concerned of possible repercussions. I always stand for what I believe is right. The matter has been adjourned to Thursday 29th January and if anyone else would like to support pls come to 1st Magistrates Court San Fernando. Next Thursday 9 am. Thanking you Viliana
