Dear Morgan Freeman, to correct your ignorance, the Tea Party as a group is not about racism or tearing our country apart. It is about getting back to the foundations of what made this country great! Our constitution! There are those in Washington that see this great document as a hindrance, and seek to undermine the principles in it and the foundation it was built on. The Tea Party is trying to stop this from happening. The role of the federal government, as laid out in the constitution, is to PROTECT the people, NOT make sure they live comfortable lives. That responsibility falls to the people themselves. As for the racism you speak of, i do not deny that there are racist in the Tea Party, they do not represent the majority of the group, who believe as the declaration states, All men are created equal. The implementation of this was horrible in the early american days, with asians, scotts, and africans all forced into slavery, but whites were also slaves and the only people who had full rights were land owners. I challenge you to find a group not plagued by racism. It is a sickness in all walks of life. The neo nazis, the black panthers, in the north, in the south, in prison and roaming the streets. But do you think that the racism in general sets the tone of our nation. I would submit that it does not, or did not until the very recent past. It has flared up again sadly and to the disgrace of our nation, and this administration and many in D.C. play racism as leverage. I think very highly of you as an actor, you are a very talented man, but please dont confuse your talent with the right to call names and put down.
