Did you do it for love? Did you do it for money? Did you do it for - TopicsExpress

Did you do it for love? Did you do it for money? Did you do it for spite? Did you think you had to, honey? Those words describe a horrifying trend that I am seeing in poor nations. Families are allowing their daughters to engage in relationships with foreigners in the hope to increase their financial well being. I understand the reasoning, but the results of these trysts never result in positive outcomes. The family may get the temporary benefit of a vacation at a luxury resort and the daughter may receive gifts and money, but alas, these things do not lead to a permanent and lasting Christian marriage. The first question I would ask a foreigner coming to Asia seeking a relationship would be, "Are there no available women in your culture?" And we all know the answer to that question. The overwhelming majority of foreigners I have spoken with here in Asia have the mindset that because the family is poor they can orchestrate the relationship; they believe they can do as they please. So when does it work? When both parties are "Born Again" Christians and their first goal is to please God and not themselves. A person can fool themselves by mouthing that they are "Born Again" but a mature Christian can see the reality. Believers do not wear mini skirts that are shorter than their buttocks, they do do post comments like "drinking cocktails all night with my friends," and they do not spend the night in a hotel room with a man; regardless if there is physical contact or not. The very appearance of impropriety is a sin. The Bible clearly tells us to: "Abstain from all appearance of evil." (1 Thessalonians 5:22) If it looks like sin, smells like sin and tastes like sin.....it is sin. You really believe that God will not judge such behavior? The Bible tells us what will happen: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:8)
