Did you know? Henna tattoos, also known as Mehndi art, is practiced in South Asia and among South Asian communities around the world in order to celebrate special occasions like weddings. Young women often get their hands and feet decorated with henna paste that leaves light tattoo-like marks for up to two weeks. The practice dates back more than 5,000 years and was originally a way to cool down in hot climates where applying henna past to arms and legs kept them cool in the desert heat. Simple henna tattoos can be done in fifteen minutes, while complicated decorations often done for brides take hours to apply. Our student, instagram/lisa_bruemmer_new got her beautiful designs done in Singapore. What a special #efmoment!
