Double Feature Weekend - The Heat and Pacific Rim. The Heat (unrated version) - Made my mother-in-law laugh, which is a good thing. Its entertaining with some slow moments. Melissa McCarthy may not be as funny as some classic comedians such as Groucho, but shes got those little asides/comments down that make a joke even funnier. Sandra Bullock is no slacker when it comes to getting down on the funny and performing slapstick. Definitely worth a viewing with plenty of extras (I mean tons). Pacific Rim was an excellent take on the old science fiction of alien creatures invading Earth. Yes, its been told before, but it different enough to keep my interest. Like World War Z, nothing extremely new but great use of CGI, including some amazing scenes. Highly recommend Untold History Of The United States, Oliver Stones foray into episodic cable TV. Watched the first episode on World War II. It didnt seem controversial, just a good telling of the big picture that many of us may have forgotten or never learned.
