Driving home from an appointment in Marshfield this morning I - TopicsExpress

Driving home from an appointment in Marshfield this morning I heard The Little Drummer Boy by The Harry Simeone Chorale on the radio. It got me to thinking about my favorite Christmas song and just how difficult it is to pick one. I love so many of them for various reasons. Im Getting Nothing for Christmas reminds me of being a kid. It wouldnt be Midnight Mass without O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Harold Angels Sing, O Holy Night or Silent Night. Then, there are versions of classics that I think are just better versions than others, like The Little Drummer Boy I heard this morning, Baby its Cold Outside by Dean Martin, Ave Maria by Josh Groban or Go Tell it On the Mountain by Garth Brooks. (dont laugh, its a very good version of the song) But, if someone held a gun to my head and forced me to choose my favorite Christmas song of all time, its this one. Let it be Christmas. Its beautifully written and sung by Alan Jackson. What amazes me is that this song never mentions the reason for the season, but feels like it does. Its the first Christmas song I play to start the holiday season every year and the last I play before putting the CDs away. Heres a live version I found on You Tube. So, now I have to ask, whats your favorite Christmas song? youtube/watch?v=RFDwkKKxO2Q
