Droolers are truly amazing people! A few days ago, I posted about my plight w/the dogs, an electrical issue, etc. Well, heres what happened with all that: We turned off the power before leaving Weds, cause no one would be here if there was a problem. I dropped the dogs off w/their groomer for the weekend. I called in 1-2x/day to check on them. She brought them to her home, where someone was with them 24/7, Hammy & her children ran around the yard, til the crazy mongoose hound crashed & slept cause he was so tired! Emma demanded tummy rubs, affection & cookies. Because their shop isnt open today (its the deep south, many places are closed), I wont get my babies back til tomorrow morning :( HOWEVER, because of the generosity of a drool angel, I WILL be able to cover their boarding costs! Ive honestly been holding back tears of joy & elation all weekend. I cant believe how amazing this person is; they said they wanted to pay it forward for a struggling person. I, of course, intend to do something equally as awesome for someone else in the future, as soon as I am able! (I try to support rescues & fundraisers, but its hard being a grad student, especially when unexpected emergencies arise!) I read a post earlier where someone was claiming to have been attacked by droolers; while its true that were ALL passionate people about our hounds (and trying to educate others, offer guidance, etc.) I havent seen many instances of people being malicious; on the contrary, since joining the DD list back in 2007, shortly after adopting my Joey Hound, Ive seen & experienced the most sympathetic, compasionate & caring individuals, messages, etc. from everyone! Any time theres a problem droolers are there to offer suggestions, remedies, fling drool, say prayers, network, etc. So glad to be a part of such an amazing group of individuals! And, I know some people asked about Hammy & Emma, so I wanted to update, and also to thank their Drool Angel for going so above & beyond to ensure that their wellbeing is taken care of during a flat out crisis on my part. Now, hopefully the home owners can get this electrical thing sorted out with a minimum of cost, headache & difficulties! (Hoping its not too bad; but wont know until tomorrow...) Cant wait to snuggle my fur babies!!!!
