EXCERPT: “Mississippi Boi: FEM SISSY AND I SIT THE CLUB DOWN WITH “IF” DANCE PEFORMANCE. (I WAS TRANSFIXED WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS VIDEO…JANETS SULTRY WALK IN THE BEGINNING WITH THE FEMALES STARTING WITH FACIAL CHOREOGRAPHY – SO SIMPLE AND SET OFF THIS VIDEO SO GOOD.) Future Call was also part of a shopping center that had a mixed gay club within it. We started going out there on a weekly basis. One Friday night, we were really enjoying dancing to the house music on the dance floor. The dance floor was so packed and the music so driving with a masterful DJ who blended perfectly a transition from one song to the other. Suddenly I heard the intro, but remix to one of my favorite dance songs, “If” by Janet Jackson. As soon as I recognized the beat pattern, my arms started swinging similar to how the dancers in the video performed. Another feminine guy was dancing and started swinging his arms. There we were, doing the exact same choreography from the video. Why did the D.J. do that?? Before Janet’s first verse was uttered I noticed the entire dance floor emptied except for me and the other dancer. Everybody stood or sat and watched the performance. Chris and the others were very impressed. We started attending the gay clubs in Denver.
