Earlier today, Abbott Northwestern Hospital proudly dedicated its Liberty Club as the Lt. Col. Mark Weber AMVETS Post 41-730. The club is a private waiting area in the hospital for military members and their loved ones to honor the men and women who have sacrificed to serve our country. It will also now serve as the meeting place for the newly established AMVETS Post. At the high point of his career with the U.S. Army, Lt. Col. Weber was diagnosed with stage IV intestinal cancer. He fought the disease for the next three years, enlisting the help of his care team at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute® – Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Todays dedication was a way of recognizing the profound affect Mark had on his caregivers.
