Eds Mini-blog for Friends in the South: Amy took the kids to her parents for the day so I decided to catch up on some work I missed earlier this week. Pounded out some super exciting SEO work then decided Id be good and continue the 5k training I began this week--5k training meaning I walk the dog at a semi brisk rate for 30 minutes. Check the weather app, yup it is cold like Tommy Skilling said it would be. I better wear a hat and my thick gloves, fall coat should be good Ill be runnin...err walking briskly after all. Somehow the minute I put on my shoes Peanut (my dowg) knows my plan and comes barreling down the stairs hopping around like some kind of Kangaroo on speed. Alrighty, off we go! HOLY MOTHER OF SANTA CLAUS! It isnt even Thanksgiving yet! Three houses away and I was already altering my route, turned the block and cold wind greetings from James Flynn or perhaps Sean Alsante whipped into my face. Yep, definitely cutting THIS short. Six degree (C) windchill sent me packing with numb fingers and toes, and typing this out hasnt thawed them much. So Allyson Johnson Dedic and the rest of my warm weather family and friends ( Cinnie Mullins freezing your butt of at the Alabama game, really?), dont tell me you are turning on the heat at 70 degrees (that is my normal thermostat setting in winter!) Apologies to my more northerly friends, I know Im a sissy. Next time Ill bust out the real winter gear and put a coat on my dog (ugh the indignity of it) and probably make it an extra block. ;)
