El Presidente signs of on 2014 First of all Huge thanks to all Members, The lads on the Committee, Ivesy, martin, rob and Simon, our Major sponsor SCINECE, VIPER, GYROLL and also Our Sponsors, Robinson Property, Synergy Bookkeeping, Glow Electronics, and Scenar Advantage, Rowies and Solid Well what an exceptional year it’s been, although we haven’t been blessed with epic waves, attendance and quality of surfing was vastly improved from last year. With our core group of original NBC members still as active as ever we welcomed a lot of new faces this season and their presence has added a whole new aspect to our club, family. Whether it be the Cruickshank’s, Gillette’s, Jefferson’s, Murphy’s or the Amos Family, it was great positive to have parents down at the club days helping out and supporting their kids and in a way I suppose that it was only fitting that our first ever club person of the year award, named after a great family man, the late Mark “Lando” Landrigan was awarded to Shauna Gillette who’s commitment to the club and her family are an inspiration to us all, it will go down as one of my most memorable moments whilst being NBC president, thanks jess for letting me name it in marks honour This year was our biggest representation at State level with a handful of worthy winners making it to Nationals where our girls were victorious; we competed and won the first ever interclub challenge against Central Coast and Foster an amazing team effort. James N made it all the way through to the finals of the Jeff Wilcox pro. And Johnny and Jess Represented on the Aussie pro tour posting solid Results. We changed our division structure which made way for our first ever grommies division, won by Noah Richards and Damon Daly. Although the Cadets division was a bit light on Competitors, Nath Amos was a head above all competitors even stepping up and winning a few juniors comps. Juniors was a tough Hard fought division with multiple finalists yet Matty Couper surfed and won consistently and was rewarded by being invited onto the D5 team. As has been the case since the dawn of time Johnny C was the man to beat in the opens and all he was strongly chased by a couple of surfers who may one day beat the man, he prevailed to take the trophy. Our final comp, the teams challenge was an immense success with Drew Sheedy and the PSDB boys making the trip up for the day and rippers Wade Masters, Nathan Henshaw and Dallas Singer joining in, the level of surfing was awesome, all 65 competitors were treated to cracking 2-3 foot newy with Dan Ankeney posting the highest heat and highest Combined score of the day Well done mate. We finished the day of with the preso and some delish Burgers served up by Newy Burger co and awesome prizes on offer donated to the club by some absolute legends, District 5, Dallas Singer Coaching Clinics, Functacula Photography, Blake Parker Photography, Nathan Henshaw Photography, Rowies Bottlo, Marty at Little Beach, the Boathouse at little Beach and Solid.
