Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba - TopicsExpress

Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, 4) while he himself went a days journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. I have has enough, LORD, he said. Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors. 5) Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. - 1 Kings 19:3-5 Lord, how easy it is to think that I am serving you when all along I am serving my desire to be somebody big who outshines his parents and grandparents in all of his accomplishments. Then when trouble comes and my dreams are not realized I am prone to sink into depression. In those times I realize that my motives are my problem and not my situation. Purge my selfish ambitions from me and send me to do your bidding without concern over success. Rob my heart of the penchant to compare myself to my predecessors and make me a persistent servant of your cause, in your time for your results. AMEN Pastor Don Patterson Constancy in ones calling is a hallmark of godly character.
