Eparchy of Bratislava From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Eparchy of Bratislava (Latin: Eparchia Bratislaviensis) is an eparchy of the Slovak Greek Catholic Church which covers the territory of western and central Slovakia, i.e., Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Trenčín, Žilina and Banská Bystrica regions (around 33,300 km²). The eparchy is a suffragan to the metropolitan Archeparchy of Prešov. Its cathedral is the Church of the Holy Feast of the Cross in central Bratislava. History[edit] The eparchy was established on 30 January 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI and its current bishop is Peter Rusnák. The approximate number of Greek Catholic faithful in the whole eparchy as of 2008 may be around 25,000.[1]
