FIFA didnt step in when EOCO moved against the GFA and it does - TopicsExpress

FIFA didnt step in when EOCO moved against the GFA and it does not step into issues of police investigation and others. but FIFA wont allow govt control of FAs and allow them to change things as they want. The point about govt funding football is an interesting one. the thing though is this..FIFA itself by virtue of its enormous resources commits a lot to games in countries. We earned about 12m dollars from Brazil and as far as I know govt will recover a lot of the money it put in. At the height of the bonus row in Brazil FIFA agreed to advance Ghanas prize money to pay the players but was not prepared to do it in cash. Infact the cost of stay of at least fifty members of the Ghanaian delegation, feeding and everything were covered by FIFA. and our Prampram school of excellence project has been funded by FIFA under the goal project. often when the national team has gone around, its been accountants from the sports ministry who have been directly responsible for everything. In Cameroon when general secretaries of their FA embezzled world cup tickets, FIFA did not stop the law from dealing with him. but it says govt cannot control the issues directly related to football matters hence its objection to looking into how Ghana prepared for the world cup for which it advanced 1.5m dollars as preparation money anyway. the other point of this is...we wont win this against FIFA. if there is evidence of criminal activity against Kwesi Nyantakyi or anybody, the law is allowed to deal with it. what FIFA wont condone is a govt ability to wake up one morning and do as it wishes with the football association.
