FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR & EMS RESPONDER OF THE YEAR– NORTH TEXAS DISTRICT 2015 Nomination requirements 1. Requires a written formal submission letter for nomination. 2. All nominations must be received by the NTFFMA Secretary no later than March 6, 2015. 3. The nomination letter may be sent via email. 4. NTFFMA Secretary- Melissa Robinson email- Melissa.Robinson@charter 5. Nominee’s department must be a member of the NTFFMA district. 6. Nominee must hold a current individual membership in the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas. 7. The winner of the NTFFMA award will automatically go on to represent the district at the state level competition. SELECTION GUIDELINES - Firefighter Each nominee will be considered based on the following areas: 1. Leadership abilities, including: leadership positions held, work knowledge, communications, creativity and innovation, attitude, interaction with others 2. Dedication to training and/or introduction of new and innovative training methods 3. Involvement in SFFMA, at both the state and district levels 4. Community involvement, both church and civic 5. Acts of heroism in a fire-related act or act of bravery 6. Accomplishments/awards received 7. Certifications held SELECTION GUIDELINES-EMS RESPONDER A nominee could be considered because of past heroism in an EMS-related act, act of bravery, dedication to training, or introduction of new and innovative training methods. Leadership abilities to be considered are: 1. Work knowledge, Communications, Creative ability, Innovation, Attitude and Interaction with other people Community involvement is considered, either church or civic.
