FS: Spherical Pillowball Shifter Bearings Own a Toyota with a 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission and feel like gear shifts could be a lot better? Then these aftermarket spherical pillowball bearings are exactly what you need! Lets face it, manual gearboxes take a hammering over the years from constant gear shifting up and down, and one of the first things to wear out are your factory rubber shifter cable bushings - This causes gear changes to feel sloppy and unresponsive, and in more severe cases can cause crunching and accelerated wear to your transmission. People often install solid brass shifter bushings or skateboard bearings, but the factory shifter cables dont move in a true linear fashion so this can often make the problem even worse and require extra effort to shift gears. These spherical bearings however allow the shifter cables to twist naturally through their range of motion, while removing any play and sloppiness between shifting. Best of all, theyre easy to install and are a completely self-lubricating design so you never have to oil them or worry about them wearing out. I have these exact bearings installed in my AE101 Corolla and after a road test the difference was very noticeable. Previously the gears used to slop into place due to the factory rubber bushings, but now the gears have a much tighter feeling, clicking into place during each shift.
