For all you people who know my brother as Dan Peters, ( Steve Maffin excluded) I would like tell you what Dannywas like. From a very early age he never backed down from bigger foes. Most of the times it was us older brothers. I was the that gave him the upside down U scare on his forehead. All through elementary school I heard Steve, Chad and Danny, come to the office! It seemed an every day occurrence. At home he was very belligerent. He did NOT like being told what to do, how to do it and what he could not do. That made him very angry. He would do most of those things anyways. Therefore he was always in trouble... always. He made Moms days miserable, Im sure. In fairness we probably helped him cause a lot of that trouble. We taught him the secret to holding firecrackers in your hand a let them explode was to hold them very tightly in your fingers. He thought he blew off his thumb! Which I found out later couldve happened. We told him he was too little and he wanted to prove he wasnt. He earned a lot of nicknames: Dumb Dirty Danny, Muck mud dirt curly head Martian, Scrub, Danny Fanny, Wee Peters, He was a very oppositional guy and refused to do what he didnt want to do. Even to the point of repeating 12th grade. Probably because we stayed up for days playing role playing games... all the time! Yet he scored a 1460 SAT. I think that was a big grow up point for him. He moved back to Nelsonville to go to Hocking and then moved in with Mom Koker to take care of her while in school. This is when all those undesirable qualities morphed him into Dan. He then met Carrie and they got Adria and Marissa. He then became the most rounded man I will ever know. My little brother showed me what I want to be like when I grow up.
