For no reason in particular, here is a general update on the projects I have coming... This week I am beginning work on a book on the films of Lucio Fulci - I have some good collaborators lined up, but will get into more detail about that as time goes on... The goal is to cover not only the POPULAR films Fulci directed but also to pay ample attention to his earlier works in different genres - as well as his early credits as a screenwriter, which are often undervalued though they resulted in some Italian box office hits and collaborations with some very distinguished filmmakers. In August, I will begin work on the 1940s volume of the Tome of Terror series with my friend and collaborator Chris Workman... After that, I will be collaborating with David Del Valle on a book on the actor Robert Quarry; David is also going to contribute a piece to my Fulci book, and Im glad to have him on board for that as well. Around that time, Chris and I should also be gearing up for the 1950s volume of Tome of Terror, and then its time to do a book length study of the Edgar Wallace krimi films. Then, of course, theres the 1960s, 70s and beyond of Tome to do. Beyond that, my two-part study of the giallo, So Deadly, So Perverse, is pretty much done and ready to go - the first volume is with the publisher and the second one is being edited now... The first three volumes of the Tome series are also in the can, as it were - and the 1930s one should hopefully be out by the fall. All of these projects will be through Midnight Marquee Press - and I have more in mind, besides, provided I dont burn myself out completely or succumb to exhaustion. :D
