For residents in North Warwickshire who I have helped fight against inappropriate wind turbines; this is excellent news. I know this has been a concern locally, but we will act to ensure that communities can oppose plans if they wanted to. This isnt about being opposed to wind power or renewable energy, but with the number of onshore turbines already built or in the system we are well on course to meet our targets and international obligations - so it is right to reconsider the subsidy regime. If we now have enough, it makes no sense to continue to subsidise them.
