Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Jane P. Ierardi, 90, who died peacefully May 29 at her home. She was born in 1923 in Interlaken, New York. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree 1943 and a Masters degree in Education and Foreign Languages from Cornell University in 1944. In 1946 she married Philip E. Ierardi, who preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James P. and Linda L. Gerard, of Savannah, daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Jane and Tony Garmany, of Nashville, Tennessee, brother and sister-in-law, William T. and Caroline Pritchard, of Interlaken, New York, granddaughter, Ashley S. Gerard, of Savannah, and one niece and two nephews. Choosing to be a homemaker as opposed to an educator, she devoted most of her life to caring for her family, excelling in being a chef, laundress, teacher, maid, doctor, guidance counselor, vet, grocer, disciplinarian, and most importantly, giving unconditional love. The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Priscilla, Betty, Dalphine, Qua, Renea, Corinthia, and Shavonda. There will be a private graveside service at a later date in Ithaca, New York. Remembrances may be made to Cornell University. Please click the link to sign the online guest book.
