From: Deeply Rooted Farms, LLC ~ August 27th, 2013 We will have our stand open today with pre-picked berries from 12:00AM - 5:00PM today as our everbearers are starting to increase their productivity. The fields are finally frosted white with blossoms and loading with fruit. Our intention is to begin to having stand hours consistently during the mid week as our berry production increases and then adding weekends as we move into the fall. But until then check back for updates before planning a trip to the farm. Last year the crop peaked around labor day weekend. This year it will be later in September. On a different note, our pumpkin fields are looking good with some orange pumpkins already! This will be our first year for pick you own pumpkins & gourds. It should be a lot of fun and as our guests you will be able to clip your own pumpkins off the vine. We will be open for pumpkin picking by mid September. To recap, our schedule will be as follows: Mid week berry sales at the stand for now. We will add weekends as soon as production increases, hopefully with some pick your own strawberries as well. By the middle of September we will be open weekends for pick your own pumpkins & gourds in the field next to our strawberry shack in addition to strawberries. We are continuing to sell our berries at the Litchfield (Sat 10-1), Collinsville (Sun 10-1), and Torrington Tuesdays (Tues 3-6) farmers markets. If you are going to the market just for our berries, try to arrive at the market open, as we sell out quickly given the limited supply. Check back for updates as we move throught he season!
