From Johnny to Dad: Jimbo was the greatest! The one thing that always stood out to me was how He used to share in laughter even when it was at his own expense, whether it be because Danny would imitate him telling katie to stop licking her lips at the same time hiding his ring finger to imitate Jims missing digit Or when his brothers referred to him and Janice as the dingles when they turned up in their motorhome. Jims trademark was a smile. Even when Jim was in his last couple of weeks of life we found the time to share laughter with him because he stood on his false teeth and snapped them, Jim being Jim did not want to shell out on a new pair so he super glued them together which we all found hilarious of course we had to take the mick! But he laughed with us and I like to think somewhere in that laughter his suffering stopped just for a split second. Keep laughing Jimbo. The amount of times I deleted what I wrote down about Jim I lost count. I struggled to find the words that could describe James Frances Mcveigh because nothing I could put on paper could describe this wonderful human being. Every time I wrote something I thought to myself it sounds so cliche, but then I realised this perfect man, was exactly what I had already deleted dozens of times. He was a kind gentle man, he was a loving caring man, he was a proud selfless man, who would go out of his way to help others, he loved life and he told me in his final days that if he had the chance to do it again, he would not change a single thing. He was so proud of his daughters, Kerry, leanne & katie and his sons Luke & Danny! He adoured his grandchildren, jake, Oliver, arwen & maximus and love playing with them. And they all loved their papa as they all called him. He loved Janice with all of his heart and nothing was ever too much. Jimbo you welcomed me with open arms into the mcveigh pride, you taught me so much, and I thank you you were a father to me and I a son to you, I am honoured to have been a part of your life. You will never be forgotten and you will always be loved I miss you so much already, Goodbye for now, god bless my beautiful dad John ORourke
