From Tony Ford (Police) STOLEN PEDAL CYCLES This year to date in Eastern Division, we have had a 26% increase in theft of pedal cycles. Although a fair proportion of the stolen pedal cycles are of low value and stolen for scrap weigh in value, some of the stolen pedal cycles are of high value and can be worth thousands of pounds each. Please consider marking systems such as the Datatag Stealth cycle etching system that can be purchased for about £20. If your habit is to leave the familys cycles outside your house, please consider this threat and keep them out of sight. The metal collectors were out in force around the Lammack and Beardwood area of Blackburn this weekend, one of them overtly wearing a Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council high visibility jacket!
