From classmate Andrew Getraer: "Hey 86s, This summer my 17 year old twin boys, Alec and Benjy, are undertaking an ambitious and exciting project: hiking the Appalachian Trail across the state of New Hampshire, the 160+ miles from the border of Vermont to Maine, a 3 ½ week trek. To make their hike even more meaningful they are raising money for a special memorial fund at the Appalachian Mountain Club in memory of our late classmate and cherished friend, Jon Daniels ’86. The boys never knew Jon, but have grown up being very close with the Daniels family. They know Jon was a lover of nature and mountains, and greatly enjoyed, as we do, the beauty and challenge of the New Hampshire wilderness.
