From the Internal Medicine Department at Rood & Riddle: How good are you at identifying different equine parasites? These images are from a foal that was admitted to the internal medicine department for examination due to colic. A naso-gastric tube was placed into the stomach upon admission and the stomach was emptied of contents to relieve the pressure. The liquid stomach contents (4L of net fluid) were examined and many parasites were seen. An ultrasound examination of the small intestine was also performed and the images recorded.
