Full time vacancy - January start. 1. Job Details Job title: Summer School Assistant Manager. Line manager: Directors 2. Job Purpose To assist the Summer School management team in the planning, preparation and organisation in all aspects of St Andrew’s College Language Schools summer programmes. The Summer School Assistant Manager is a key member of the management team responsible for the set up of St Andrew’s College Language schools 6 Summer Programmes for students aged 9-17. They will establish procedures and systems, develop curriculum and programmes, write handbook, build capacity within the organisation, and generally do the groundwork for all 6 Programmes so that they are ready to start in late June. St Andrew’s College Language schools Summer Programmes cater for over 1250 students each Summer. The Summer School Assistant Managers role will be grounded in ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all students, and ensuring that all summer school team members have the same priority. They will be expected to adhere to statutory regulations, school policies, and the frameworks provided by the British Council. They will work closely with the Summer School Co-ordinator and the Director of Operations in managing the summer schools. The Summer School Assistant Manager will assist the DoS in creating summer school syllabuses and recruitment for summer staff as required. It is anticipated that the Summer School Assistant Manager may take responsibility for the management of one Summer Programme from late June - mid August. The Summer School Assistant Manager will also be required to represent the school at fairs and conferences as requested by the Directors. Assist the Directors in marketing of the school, including creating materials, participation in FAM trips and liaising with clients. Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the Job CELTA or equivalent qualification Experience of working with young people Experience of working in a similar role Ability to cope under pressure and with tight deadlines Excellent organisational skills Strong interpersonal skills Good time management The recruitment process will include two interviews. The first will be a formal interview. In the second interview candidates will be asked to undertake some tasks and make a personal presentation. Both interviews will take place in Glasgow.
