There has been a lot of grumbling in the animation industry about the demise of hand-drawn animation--it was put to death by the idiots who currently run the major animation studios. People only want computer graphics, thats what they believe. This short film, Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom, (Disneys first use of Cinemascope) won an Academy Award for best short subject in 1954 and clearly demonstrates the pure artistry and unique value of hand-drawn animation, and also why all those guys at the top are nuts.
