Geek Moment - I found out they posted the source code for the Apollo moon missions. I is nice to see they had to solve the same problems we do today, but some of there solutions they came up with are amazing! Example - they were afraid that the code to run the guidance system may change from a solar flare, or just not be loaded properly, so there solution was to stitch the code into the memory so it could not be changed! It took months to do. Here is a short video. The woman in the video, Margaret Hamilton, is introduced as an engineer, but she actually was in charge of the team that wrote the guidance system. She was a pioneer in creating asynchronous software, which is what makes you smart phone run so snappy!
