Glenn Miller, one of the most famous American musicians of the wartime period, became widely known in Greece only after the end of WWII. His still unexplained disappearance and death, on 15 December 1944, coincided with the battle of Dekemvriana in Athens and passed unnoticed at the time. However, 70 years later his musical genius lives on, and his music is rarely absent from any festive occasion.
