God bless Californias Senate Majority Leader, Ellen Corbett, who is also our monasterys local State Senator. She personally called our monastery this morning to tell us the good news that Governor Jerry Brown signed her Senate Bill 124 into law this morning, which permits our Abbot Theodor to be buried here at Holy Cross Monastery. She said that in all her years as a senator, she had never seen legislation move so swiftly or as unanimously as this bill. When we thanked her, she said: Its not every day we get to do something as wonderful as this! She also expressed a desire to visit our monastery and meet our abbot soon, perhaps even coming to attend a Divine Liturgy here. May God grant many years to Senator Corbett for her kindness to us!
