Going forward, there are two critical spheres of responsibility - TopicsExpress

Going forward, there are two critical spheres of responsibility for the actions which will change African countries. The first is of course the Africans themselves. The second sphere of responsibility, albeit equally important, falls on the “externalities” with which African nations have had close economic contact for more than six hundred years—Western countries. Western nations must recognize that as African countries assert more control over their economic destiny, (as the Asian Tigers did successfully), it will necessitate a shift in emphasis. The people with whom Africans should do business are those able to negotiate mutually advantageous terms; not the onerous exploitation which has been perpetrated (mostly by Europeans) on the African continent and its many nations for more than six hundred years. —from the forthcoming Unleashed: A New Paradigm of African Trade with the World, by John I.
