Gonna give you guys an except of poetry. In remembrance of Independence Day. The Declaration of Blackism We, the People of African decent, Baked by the Atlantic suns of inter-continental commerce, Have soaked in the Jacuzzi of kooliad flavored vinegar Perspiring fluorescent beady eggs of American history Upon our overworked and undervalued skin, Do declare, that upon these shores, Where the Jamestown negroes became moon walking captives With their footprints creating craters in the terrain of oppressed black identity; Where the womb of maternal child bearers punctured metal staples in the foreheads of future hierarchies; Where the Mississippi Nile boiled our sorrows into backwoods sanctuaries and jubilees out of our West African dance to our newly discovered ditties; Where Mamur and Papa-Out-Back became Reverend, Brother, Mother, Deaconess of our pushed off to the side, secret societies; Where we swang the buggy Rampart, Lenox we sung the blues, rose out of the ashes into the boldness of black in Harlem to shun the Dixie definitions in our village out on Farish; We do declare, with our chin balancing on the peak of Olympus Marching on Washington, with our black power fists in the air, That we remember our blackness, Even though the ruler of MS Standards wont teach our kids an inch.
