Each day in this Temple dedicated to the pursuit of peace, we pray for peace and uphold one of the nations of our world. Today we remember the people of Kyrgyzstan in our prayers. A Central Asian country of incredible natural beauty and proud nomadic traditions, Kyrgyzstan achieved independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Raising livestock remains the main agricultural activity today. The country has the largest natural growth walnut forest in the world. Current concerns include: privatization of state-owned enterprises, expansion of democracy and political freedoms, inter-ethnic relations, and terrorism. We seek justice, peace and reconciliation for the people of Kyrgyzstan. May our time of worship and prayer lead us in paths that promote just and peaceful communities in all nations.
